Meet a Nobel Prize Winner: Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

What’s a neutrino? And what three flavours do they come in? Dr. Art McDonald of Queen’s University will help us answer these questions. To make his Nobel Prize-winning discovery, Dr. McDonald created the world’s deepest laboratory. Located 2 kilometers underground, the SNOLAB is a clean room used to detect tiny particles from the deepest reaches of our universe.
In this Real People, Real Science event, Dr. McDonald will talk about his ground breaking discovery, followed by a Q&A session for curious students.

Following the presentation, students will learn about the particles investigated in SNOLAB, with a viewing of the planetarium show The Dark Matter Mystery. Finally, students will explore the Nobel winning discovery, by visiting the New Eyes on the Universe exhibition.

Cost: $5.00* per student & chaperone.
*SPECIAL RATE thanks to generous support from our donors.

Can't get enough? Book additional programming and continue your day of discovery for an additional $4.00 (includes Science Centre Admission, science demonstrations and admission to the Angry Birds Universe exhibition). To book additional programming on top of that, the cost is $11.50 per student.
