You are invited to enjoy free* Science Centre General Admission on Friday, September 22, as TELUS World of Science - Edmonton opens its doors for an exciting day of wonder and discovery, all made possible through our partnership with Amazon Canada for the inaugural Amazon Future Engineer Day.
Amazon Future Engineer is Amazon Canada’s comprehensive childhood-to-career program that increases access to computer science education for children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities.
What to Expect:
- Engage in an interactive environment fostering a love for science and technology.
- Experience a unique workshop, "Your Voice is Power," combining music and tech to champion social justice.
- Delve into computer science and coding basics through music remixing.
- Engage in discussions covering the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis experience in Canada.
- Drop in engineering challenges in the Science Garage
- Cool Experiments on the Science Stage
- Amazing planetarium shows in the Zeidler Dome theatre

NOTE: The Free tickets are available on September 22 at the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton Box Office ONLY. These tickets are not available online.
There may be a larger number of visitors than normal, so make sure to arrive early.

1. Will TELUS World of Science - Edmonton be open to the public?
Yes, we will be open but may be busier then usual and there may be longer wait times.
2. Who can attend the event?
We are inviting under-resourced children and families as well as TELUS World of Science - Edmonton Members and the general public.
Please note: While Members and visitors can visit TELUS World of Science - Edmonton, there will be no tickets available online.
3. Is the event free for all attendees?
Priority will be given to under-resourced kids and families, but the event is also free for TELUS World of Science - Edmonton Members and the general public. Based on free Science Centre General Admission only.
4. Will there be “in-and-out” privileges?
No. Due to the nature of this event, there will be no in-and-out privileges.
5. Will there be media present?
Yes. From 11:30 a.m.– 1:00 p.m., there may be media on site recording Amazon staff and their family members in enclosed areas. Signs will be posted to identify areas where filming is taking place and none of the footage captured will include other guests.
6. What times will the "Your Voice is Power" activities be available?
"Your Voice is Power" activities are from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. But availability may be intermittent based on school programs scheduled.
