Introducing two elite athletes who have achieved top-ranks in their sport.
Don't miss this inspiring presentation from Ellie Greenwood, a British ultra-marathon runner from Scotland (now based in Vancouver), and Gary Robbins; athlete, race director and coach for some of B.C' s most iconic ultra races and star athletes. The focus will be on overcoming injuries and setbacks, as well as setting goals and persevering against all odds.
Ellie Greenwood began her ultra-career in 2008 and is a two-time 100 KM World Champion, winning the title in 2010 and 2014. Greenwood holds numerous course records, including those for the Western States 100, the Canadian Death Race, the JFK 50 Mile Run and the Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run. She is the first British woman to win the 90 KM Comrades Marathon in South Africa.
Gary Robbins is best known for his heartbreaking near finishes in the Barkley Marathon, as captured in the documentary Where Dreams Go To Die - Gary Robbins and The Barkley Marathons. Robbins' race resume is as impressive as the man himself: course record-holder for the Hurt 100 and numerous top 10 finishes.
