Edmonton’s most epic science showdown!
Based on the format of a poetry slam, a science slam is a competition which brings together scientists, educators, students, performers, and nerds to share their science with a captive audience.
Our previous Science Slams have seen everything from rapping about gravity waves, to clowns teaching science safety, to ukulele ballads about robotic limbs.
Call for Presenters!
Do you have a passion for science communication? Whether it’s your own scientific research or just an aching curiosity, this is your chance to share it with a live audience. You can rap, do an interpretative dance, a skit, a song – whatever! No slideshows are allowed, but props and creative presentation styles are encouraged. You will have five minutes to present on any science topic and will be judged based on communication skills, audience engagement, and scientific accuracy.
Please apply online by Wednesday, March 20th, 2019
If you have any questions or you want to run an idea by us, email Cate Collins.
