Spring Break Camps 2017
March 27 - March 31, 2017
Registration for Spring Break Camps is now open! Book Today!
Each day a different topic will be explored, as we introduce campers to a variety of sciences, including: biology, chemistry, engineering and mathematics. Some days we'll explore polymers or build and test rollercoasters or even create 'egg re-entry vehicles'. Get ready Jr. Scientists - it's time to report for duty!
Campers will be completely immersed in the scientific world of the Angry Birds Universe exhibition! Using the exhibition as their guide, campers will experience the world of this famous gaming app like never before: building and testing their own slingshots, cars and of course; catapults! Campers will even create incredible flying machines, design unique animations and maneuvre laser mazes. They'll even learn all about bird ecology and about what makes them such fascinating creatures!
Join other film makers in the director's chair for a blockbuster of epic proportions, during our blockbuster stop-motion animation workshop. Create a stop-motion animation film and rival the likes of Hollywood’s best! Working in small crews, campers will use Lego to create backgrounds. Next, they'll bring Lego characters to life through the delicate craft of stop-motion animation. Crews will add voices, sound effects and titles. Each film-makers will receive their completed film on a customized USB key. The best part? We'll host a very special film premiere on the big screen for family and friends at our red carpet film festival. Last, but not least: young film-makers will even work collaboratively to create a digital comic book, complete with ‘comification’, titling and of course ‘WOW’s and “POW’s”
Become the brain behind our EV3 robots! Campers will work with a partner to build, program, and test their robotic creations using the EV3 robotics system. Campers will program their robot to respond to colour, light and sound and will design special attachments for their robots to accomplish various tasks. This programming camp is designed for campers who can’t leave a problem unsolved.
This camp offers gamers the ultimate challenge: design and construct a video game using Scratch programming! Campers learn the basics, including creating levels, adding characters, objects, behaviours and sounds. Campers will be able to access their game online and continue improving it after camp is over. When campers aren’t working on games of their own, our instructors will provide game based challenges using Minecraft EDU software. Students will need to bring their own headphones.
