Classroom Presentations - Grade 5

Classroom presentations are 1 hour unless indicated.
Maximum of 30 students per presentation.

All classroom presentations require 2 tables, a garbage bin, electrical outlet and access to water. Nametags are required for all students. 

Additional adult helpers are always welcome! 

Who Haz What?

  • Classroom Chemistry

Can your team identify the mystery spill? As members of an emergency response team, students test several "hazardous" substances to determine their physical and chemical properties.

Additional requirements: a white surface or projection screen.


Complete the Circuit

  • Electricity and Magnetism
  • Mechanisms Using Electricity

Has the house been wired to code? As electricians, students learn how to draw the diagrams for simple, series, and parallel circuits. They build each circuit on an electrical "house" to activate lights, a doorbell, and a window alarm.

Additional requirements: a white surface or projection screen, and two or more electrical outlets.

What are the driving forces of weather? What makes the wind blow? Students will get a taste of meteorology as they discover how the Sun influences weather patterns and even hold a cloud in their hands!
