Assembly Presentations

Prepare to be wowed with all the bells and whistles of high-energy science demos!  Science in Motion assemblies are created for K-12 and intended to spark students’ interest and fascination in general sciences.  Student volunteers are embedded in the fun as they sport the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton purple lab coats and become science assistants.

*All assemblies require 3 tables, a garbage can, 2 or more electrical outlets, and access to water. Assemblies must be booked in a large space, such as a gymnasium. Classrooms and typical libraries are not suitable. Assemblies are 45 minutes in length.

Available Assemblies:

Bite-Sized Science

A little bit of everything, and a whole lot of excitement! This assembly sparks curiosity by showcasing a variety of scientific fields. Defy expectations through astounding demonstrations of forces. Experience positive reactions to chemical experiments. Open your senses to visualize sound waves. Ignite imaginations with the science of fire. Satisfy students’ cravings for science in this buffet of thrilling demonstrations.

Use the Force(s)

Let’s harness the power of the forces around us! We'll explore Newton's three laws of motion, use applied physical forces to operate our mighty slingshot, and overcome the force of friction on our speedy hovercraft! BLAST OFF to learning in this assembly!

Fire and Ice

Experience the fascinating phenomenon of fire with an in-depth look at combustion, and characteristics of various fuels when ignited.  Then be enthralled with the ultimate cool as you explore the effects of liquid nitrogen on matter. Discover the reaction when gases, liquids, and solids are exposed to extreme temperature changes.

For the Love of Chemistry

This is one assembly program that is guaranteed to get a REACTION! Get ready for exciting sights and sounds as we explore the wonderful world of chemistry.
