Frequently Asked Questions
Planning your launch night experience? Here's what you need to know.
1. What’s the difference between the two ticket options?
- Zeidler Dome experience: live launch stream + a 45 minute Forward! To The Moon show in the Zeidler Dome.
- IMAX experience: live launch stream + the 45 minute film Apollo 11 in the IMAX Theatre.
2. Is the launch date confirmed?
The launch date and time is subject to change. There could be multiple launch attempts!
Launches are complex, especially this one: it's the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years! Also, launches are dependent on weather conditions.
3. What happens if the launch is delayed during the watch party?
The launch has a two-hour window between 4:24 p.m. and 6:24 p.m. After lift off, the film in the IMAX theatre and the show in the Zeidler Dome will begin, no matter when within that window the launch occurs.
If the launch is delayed to another date during the event, the evening’s programming and experiences will continue as planned. Please note that tickets are non-refundable at that point.
4. What happens if the launch is rescheduled?
If the launch is rescheduled ahead of the current date and time, the Bookings Team will contact you to discuss your ticket options.
5. Will there be food and drinks available?
The Purple Pear Restaurant will be open until 6:30 p.m. on April 1, which will have a selection of food and drink options to purchase.
6. Will the RASC observatory be open?
Observatory viewing depends on weather. Clear skies allow telescope viewing of objects like Jupiter and other celestial highlights.
