Alberta’s own astronaut is heading to space!
Join the Science Centre and Edmonton Public Library on October 1 at Stanley A. Milner Library, Churchill Square, as we come together to watch the launch of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission and cheer on Canadian Space Agency astronaut Colonel Joshua Kutryk, as he begins his journey to the International Space Station.
The launch will be screened on The Wall, Milner Library’s massive, two-story-tall, 40-foot-wide interactive digital installation. Science Centre space expert Joel Weatherly will provide commentary as we watch this exciting moment unfold.
Crew-13 includes Kutryk, NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. Together, the four crew members are preparing for an approximately six-month stay aboard the International Space Station.
They will live and work in orbit, conducting research, testing new technologies and experiencing the unique challenges of life in space.
