What does it take to live and work in space?
Canadian Space Agency astronaut Colonel Joshua Kutryk, NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov are about to find out. As part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission, the four crew members are preparing for an approximately six-month stay aboard the International Space Station.
Together, they will live and work in orbit, conducting research, testing new technologies and experiencing the unique challenges of life in space.
For Kutryk, this will be his first journey to space and will make him the next Canadian to fly to the International Space Station. His mission will also be the first by a Canadian Space Agency astronaut through NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

Colonel Joshua Kutryk has a special connection to the Science. As a Canadian Space Agency astronaut and an Alberta native, Joshua has shared his passion for space and science with our community, inspiring the next generation of explorers and innovators.
His journey from Alberta to the International Space Station is a story that feels especially close to home. As Joshua prepares for his first mission to space, we’re proud to follow along and celebrate this exciting milestone with our community.
