There's been a chemical spill and we need your help!
In this two-part, virtual & in-person program, your students will be members of a Dangerous Goods Emergency Response Team investigating a chemical spill accident.
In the pre-recorded virtual session, students will learn about hazardous material symbols, dangerous material transportation and handling, and a bit of background on matter and chemistry.
During the in-person session, students will observe and test several “hazardous” substances to identify the mystery truck spill chemical thereby assisting the Emergency Response Team safely handle the clean-up.
- One pre-recorded virtual session to train your students as emergency responders
- One in-person session at TELUS World of Science - Edmonton, where students complete a variety of lab tests to solve a chemical mystery
Please note that our flexible program length (45-60 minutes) allows our sessions to be guided by student capacity and curiosity.
