Brian Wagg
Director, Business Development & Strategic Initiatives, C-FER Technologies
Brian has extensive experience in oil sands operations, pipeline safety, and leak detection, and now works at C-FER Technologies to improve safety and efficiency in the energy industry. He leads large-scale tests to understand how hydrogen impacts pipeline and well equipment. By connecting industry and government, he plays a key role in addressing important energy challenges, including the use of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source.


Brent Lakeman
Executive Director, Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub
Brent leads a team dedicated to growing the demand for hydrogen across various sectors. He has previously led efforts to position the Edmonton Metropolitan Region as Canada’s leading hydrogen hub and is currently driving initiatives like the 5000 Hydrogen Vehicle Challenge. With a strong background in clean technology, life sciences, and digital sectors. Brent has also held leadership roles within Alberta's government and research systems.


Greg Caldwell
Director of Policy & Advocacy at ATCO Gas and Pipelines Ltd.
Greg utilizes his expertise in energy systems and finance to drive sustainable energy solutions, focusing on low-emission technologies like hydrogen and renewable gas, while also recognizing the vital role of conventional energy infrastructure. His approach balances forward-thinking innovation with the practical reality that robust energy systems are crucial to national security, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and agriculture. He also lends his voice through advisory board roles at the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, NAIT, and the University of Alberta.


Hassan Dehghanpour, PhD
Professor, Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta
Hassan's research focuses on how fluids move underground, with real-world applications in hydraulic fracturing, enhanced oil recovery, and energy storage. He’s published more than 170 papers and contributes his expertise to top journals and industry committees. His work continues to push innovation in subsurface engineering and has earned him multiple industry awards.
