A crime has occurred and the Science Centre needs your help to investigate! In this two-part pre-recorded and in-person program, students participate in various experiments and develop a hypothesis, supported by evidence, to name their prime suspect. They’ll need to evaluate all the evidence presented to them to determine which pieces of evidence are the most trustworthy!
Students act as forensic scientists by analyzing fingerprints, ink chromatography, handwriting, fibers, and tire tread patterns to help reveal the prime suspect. Evaluate all the evidence and guard against biases that can influence the reliability of their results. The game is afoot, can you find the prime suspect using the evidence provided?
Students will prepare for the investigation by watching a pre-recorded session in the comfort of their classroom, followed by an in-person session at the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton
THIS PROGRAM CONSISTS OF:
- One 45 minute pre-recorded session as an introduction to forensic science & the crime
- One 45 minute in-person session at TELUS World of Science - Edmonton to get hands-on & analyze the evidence
