Lighting of the Qulliq Ceremony
A traditional Inuit ceremony that honours Indigenous resilience, welcomes the community, and sets a meaningful tone for National Indigenous Peoples Day. A qulliq is the traditional oil lamp used within Arctic communities.

Dezmond Morningchild, powwow dancer and round dance singer from Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, will be performing an Indigenous Apple Dance, a traditional celebration of community, sharing, and connection.
During the dance, apples provided by Freson Bros. will be handed out—a symbol of generosity and friendship.
