The RASC Observatory is an incredible way to view the stars and planets! It is located in Coronation Park, just southeast of the science centre. There is no charge for admission.
All openings are dependent upon weather and sky conditions:
- Temperatures must be above -10 degrees Celsius (including wind chill).
- Skies must be clear and not cloudy.
RASC Observatory Hours Update (Until September 7, 2026)
The RASC Observatory is currently open on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:15 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., now through September 7.
Special Event Openings
The observatory will also open for the following upcoming celestial events:
- August 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – Partial solar eclipse
- August 27 from 8:30 p.m. to midnight – Deep partial lunar eclipse
A special thank you for the RASC volunteers who will be on-site to guide guests through the night sky and during the up coming celestial events.
