The Edmonton Space & Science Foundation created the Inspiring Educator Award in 2024 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of TELUS World of Science — Edmonton.
This award spotlights teachers who go above and beyond to bring science to life in their classrooms, sparking a passion for discovery in their students. Applications closed on April 18, 2025.
Thanks to the generous support of EPCOR and their commitment to science education and partnership with the Science Centre, the Inspiring Educator Award recognizes three outstanding teachers in Alberta.
Winners


Hannah Ludlage
Junior High Teacher at Cold Lake Junior High in Cold Lake.
Hannah empowers students to explore, question, and discover in a world where science is constantly evolving. With support from this award, her students will dive into dissections, building projects, and science fairs that bring experiential learning to life.


Chayce Moon
Elementary Teacher at Glendale Sciences and Technology School in Red Deer.
Chayce fosters a classroom where curiosity thrives and discovery is celebrated. Through experiments, model building, and exploring nature, she helps students connect science theory to real-world experiences in memorable ways.


Julie Arsenault
Junior High Teacher at Michael Strembitsky School in Edmonton
Julie brings authentic, project-based learning into her classroom, using meaningful strategies that empower student growth. She thrives on collaboration and loves sharing ideas with fellow educators across the country.
Award Recognition
- A $1,000 monetary award that the educator may use to fund an engaging science activity for their classroom, purchase supplies, or for other educational activities.
- One in-person or virtual field trip at TELUS World of Science - Edmonton for one class.
- Recognition at the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation Annual General Meeting and in the Foundation newsletter.
