Program Overview:
The program provides hands-on experience in working with children, developing science communication strategies, and exploring the fundamentals of program development and presentation.
The program emphasizes understanding child development, supporting neurodivergent individuals, and incorporating Indigenous perspectives in science. Supervised by Camps & Community Programs Presenters, participants will engage in interactive workshops and gain hands-on experience working in camps with campers.
- Participants will have the opportunity to work with children in various science camp settings, allowing them to understand the responsibilities and challenges of being in a leadership role.
- The program is built on a foundation of education and personal growth. Participants will gain essential leadership skills, such as communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork, that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Participants will also refine science communication skills by creating and presenting STEM-based activities and programming.
